The Tragedy of Two Young Lovers

By Eazy-E

Introduction
In the city of Verona there exist two young teenage lovers, Rome and Juliet, but there exist problem between them. Both of them are part of two rival houses, which means their suppose to feel deep hate towards each other, but that's not what happened. Romeo, son of the leader of the Montagues, and Juliet, daughter of the Capulets, both met each other at a party hosted by the Capulets. Apparently, a few days before the party Romeo was deeply depressed after breaking up with then girlfriend, Rosaline, and was persuaded by his friends to crash the Capulet party. At the party, Romeo and Juliet met for just a brief moment before the party was over and they were already madly in love with each other. But their meeting was cut short once the Nurse told Romeo that Juliet was the daughter of Capulet. However, this did not stop the two from meeting each other, right after the party Romeo ditched his friends to find Juliet back in the Capulet house. The two met again at night and planned to wed themselves at the church of Friar Lawrence. Unfortunately their happiness was cut short after Romeo murdered Tybalt, cousin of Juliet and a Capulet, and he was charged with murder from the Prince. Upon knowing this Juliet and the Friar devised a plan to get Romeo and her to run away. They planned to create the illusion that Juliet took her own life and sent a letter to Romeo, explaining to him that he needed to get Juliet out of the mortuary. However, the letter did not make it in time and upon seeing Juliet's supposed dead body, he took his own life. Upon waking up Juliet found the dead body of her beloved besides and she too decided to take her life.

Romeo's Profile
Romeo is a teenage boy from the city of Verona, is a member of one of the two rival gang in the city. His father is the leader of the Montague house, and along with his friends and family members Romeo learned to hate the Capulets. He was a 17 years-old teenager that was just depressed after breaking with his girlfriend, Rosaline, before meeting Juliet. His friends described him as a gentle person even though his father was the leader of the house. He was a love-seeking person that would always come up with poetic quotes when speaking with others. He was great friends with Mercutio, who was killed by Tybalt thus making him seek revenge against Tybalt.

Juliet's Profile
Juliet was a 14 year-old teenage girl and the daughter of the head of the royal Capulets. Her maid, Nurse, described her as a impatient, but kind girl that was deeply in love with Romeo. Her father wanted her to marry Paris, a member of the royal family, but she did not agree to it and was commited to loving Romeo. She was really close to her deceased cousin, Tybalt, who was killed by Romeo. She was also close to her servant, Nurse, who was the person that was able to get them connected.

Statements from Nurse
We were able to interview the person closest to Juliet, her servant, Nurse, "I can't believe that she took her own life. I knew she was in love, but I didn't think that she'd take her own life. She was really upset when her father wanted her to marry Paris. It was a surprised to me when she was dead set into loving Romeo and even going her way to marry him even though he was a Montague. Her death is really tragic to me, I took care of her since she was little and her parents are deeply depressed."

Statements from Benvolio
We were also able to briefly with Romeo's cousin, Benvolio. Benvolio was also a very close friend to Mercutio. "I am deeply upset about the death of both my best friends. I was really close to both Romeo and Mercutio and I can't believe that they both died. I couldn't believe it when Romeo killed Tybalt, I don't think any would have believed it. But then it really shocked me when Romeo took his own life when he found out that Juliet was dead."

Punishment

Amidst all this chaos, the person that seems most responsible and is in the center of all this, is the Friar. The Friar is responsible for the marriage of Romeo and Juliet. He also responsible for persuading and giving Juliet the potion to give the illusion that she is deadso that she and Romeo are able to run away. The Friar should be the person to punish because he could have prevented all this, but he chose not to and thus caused a tragedy. Both households should be forced to commit themselves to helping the community and sign a treaty with each other to stop the conflict.

My views on Euthanasia

I believe that euthanasia is a legitimate way to end some one's life, but only when there is nothing else to turn to. In the articles and "Of Mice and Men" people performed mercy killing to end some one's life due to their beliefs. I think that mercy killing is a legitimate way to end someones life because there are some times when there is nothing to turn to but to end that person's life. For example, if someone has a serious health issue and is continuously suffering, it should be legitimate to end that person's life so that they won't have to go through the burden. Another reason I believe that "mercy" killing is legitimate is because if the person wishes to end his or her life, it should be the obligation of the family to pull the plug if there is no other option to turn to. Like in "Of Mice and Men" when George kills Lennie because his death was inevitable because Curley would have killed him. I think George made the right decision so that he wouldn't go through the rigorous suffering that Curley was going to bestow upon him. Though I believe that mercy killing is a legal way to kill someone, I think there are sometimes that mercy killing is wrong. Unless the person is beckoning for his or her life to end, or if that person is sullenly in pain, you should not have the choice to pull the plug unless their in a coma. Another way that "mercy" killing is not legit would be when a person believes that there is no other way to end a life due to problems in life like in the second article. To conclude I believe that euthanasia is a legitimate way to end a life only if there are no other option and when a person earnestly think there is no other way.

Of Mice and Men

1. Reflecting on Of Mice and Men

a. In the book "Of Mice and Men", George killed Lennie after he went on the run when Lennie killed Curley's wife. George's perspective of killing Lennie was that by killing him, George thinks he saved Lennie. By killing him, Lennie wouldn't have to be killed by Curley and even if he gets capture, George thinks Curley would go after Lennie eventually. George also thinks that it was probably better for Lennie today so that he wouldn't need to keep getting in trouble and doing harm to other people.

b. I think it was best for George to kill Lennie because life was going to be hell for both of them. Lennie was going to get killed by Curley anyways and it would have be better for him not to suffer and die happily thinking about the bunnies. I also think it is better for George to kill Lennie so that he wouldn't do unmeaningful harm to others.

2. Father in Italy Accused of Murder

a. "Late last year, 67-year-old Beppino Englaro, won an intense 10-year legal battle to allow his daughter's feeding tubes to be removed, saying that was her wish. The court accepted that before the accident, his daughter had expressed a preference for dying over being kept alive artificially." The father won a legal battle to remove the feeding tubes from his daughter. He believed that by removing it would have been better for his daughter. He did it because it was his daughter's wish to remove the feeding tubes and believed that his daughter prefer death over living off the life support system.

b. "Late last year, 67-year-old Beppino Englaro, won an intense 10-year legal battle to allow his daughter's feeding tubes to be removed, saying that was her wish. The court accepted that before the accident, his daughter had expressed a preference for dying over being kept alive artificially." I think the best thing to do for the daughter was to remove the tubes just as the father did. In my opinion it would have done it if it was my daughter's wishes and if she truly did want to live on the life support. The best thing to do for the daughter would have been removing the feeding tube because you basicly can't do anything if you have to rely on a artificial device.

c. I agree with what the father did because I believe it was the right decision to remove the feeding tubes. One reason is because it was his daughter's wishes to remove the tubes and he should honor his daughter's wish. Another reason that I believe it was the right choice to make because there's no point in just living on the life support all your life and it wastes money for the hospital bed.

3. Man Kills Family after Losing his Job

a. The man was probably thinking about how he was going to deal with life without a job and raising five children. I think he went paranoid since he wasn't going to be able to make enough money to raise the family. Then he probably thought about killing himself and he thought it would have been better if he killed his children along with him.

b. One way parents could encourage there kids to succeed in life without money is working hard in school. Another way a parent could help their children is to tell them about all the bad things that happen in the world and encourage them to not give in to them. The parent could teach the kid about values and lessons that could help them in life.

Lord of the Flies Movie

1a. River Phoenix - Ralph

1b. River Phoenix is an actor who starred in the movies "Stand by Me" and "The Mosquito Coast". I think Phoenix would play a good Ralph because in the beginning of"'LotR" people turned to Ralph for helped and in "Stand by me" Phoenix was the one people turned to for help. Another reason why Phoenix would be a good Ralph is because as Chris Chambers, he tries to point people in the right direction like Ralph. He also has that natural leader aura around like the effect Ralph had when he had the conch. Phoenix also stands up for what he believes in. The last reason why I think Phoenix is a good Ralph is because he stuck with his friends until the end.

2a. Daffy Duck - Jack

2b. Daffy Duck is a cartoon character from the show "The Looney Tunes" and would make a perfect Jack. Daffy Duck is a very egotiscal person much like Jack thinking he should be leader. Daffy also goes against leadership and is usually greedy for power or money. Daffy can also lose control and do unnecessary things. Also much like Jack, he likes to make fun of people.

3a. Dib - Piggy

3b. Dib is a cartoon character from "Invader Zim". In the show, Dib constantly tries to expose Zim as an alien and prove that Earth is being invaded. I think Dib would play a good Piggy because he always makes people listen to reason. He is constantly picked on by people because of his disorders. Whenever Dib brings up a reason to people he is only laughed at and made fun off. Another reason why Dib should play Piggy because that he still believes in what he thinks and tries to make a voice for himself. Dib could also be annoying at some points mainly due to his big head. Dib is also smart though like Piggy.

4a. Hikaru and Kaoru - Sam n' Eric

4b. Hikaru and Kaoru are characters from "Ouran High School Host Club". I think they'd play good for Sam n' Eric because they are twins and they both stick to their friends until the end. They are also slick at sneaking out like Sam n' Eric when helping Ralph.

5a. Mike Tyson - Roger
5b. Mike Tyson is a retired professional boxer. Mike Tyson is a good Ralph because he is not afraid of throwing punches. He also enjoys his boxing career and shows little emotion for his enemies. Also like Roger, he aims to knockout his victim in one shot.

6. BEASTIE - Randal

7a. Chernobyl

7b. 1. Change the setting to the abandoned city of Chernobyl
2. Change the conch to a rank
3. Change chior to boy scouts

8. Keep the title the same.

Hiroshima

1. The picture makes me feel as if the city is normal like any other city. Everyone is just doing what their normally doing like going to school an
d working. The city looks like its going along with whatever its doing and people don't seem to be expecting a bomb to be detonated on it. The picture makes me feel bored and calm inside.

2. The pictures shows the cloud that the atomic bomb makes after being detonated. Black smoke engulfed the entire city and the cloud risen all the way up into the sky. This picture makes me feel horrified of how so many things could happen at once. The entire city was destroyed and many lives were lost.

3. The victim's body of the atomic bomb is badly burned and is almost incinerated. The atomic bomb causes alot of destruction to happen at one time. This picture makes me feel bad for the people that died and suffered from the bomb. Many people's body were incinerated and burnt.

4. The artist that drew this picture drew people that died and suffered from the effect of an atomic bomb. Buildings collapsed and bodies laid dead everywhere. This pictures made me feel sad because many people died and suffer from the attack. Citizens shouldn't have been involved for what the government did.

2nd assignment: Views on Abortion

1. What is your stance on abortion? Give three reasons why (this is your own thoughts). Explain clearly and use a lot of detail. - 5 points

My stance on abortion is pro-choice because I think that if a women isn't ready to have a baby and if the baby is born she wouldn't be able to take care of it. Also, if it was a teen pregnancy, the women wouldn't be able to continue her education and would have to stay home at take care of the baby. Another reason why abortion should be available is that giving birth could be dangerous to some women.

2. Copy/paste evidence that supports that supports your views. Make sure you use quotation marks (" ") because these are NOT your words. - 3 points

"All of women's aspirations--whether for education, work, or any form of self-determination--ultimately rest on their ability to decide whether and when to bear children."

3. Explain the quote you chose for number 2 in your own words. You can explain it in the following ways: relate it to something that happened in your life or someone else's, explain why you agree with the statement, explain it to the reader with more detail in case the reader might not understand the quote, or give the reader a hypothetical situation in which the quote plays out. (Whichever why you decide to explain your quote, you should have at least 3 sentences to be thorough) - 6 points

I think the above quote is right because, the women should decide when to have a child or not because she needs to think about her education and career. The quote meant that how her education and work plays off depends on whether she decides to have the baby or not. So that means if she chooses to have the baby, she would throw away her education and career cause she takes care of the baby all day.

4. Repeat step 2 with a new quote

"Before abortion was permitted in countries like the UK and USA, women still had abortions, but because abortion was a crime, they were carried out in secrecy, and very often by people with no, or inadequate, medical training. And even when carried out by doctors, they were rarely done with hospital back-up."

5. Repeat step 3 to explain the new quote

The above quote means that when abortion was not allowed, women performed abortion sceretly. Though abortions were done secretly they were normally not safe, and did not have hospital to back them up. Because they were unsafe, women were sometimes injured permanently, or some may have died.

First Assignment: Powerful Pictures

2. Answer in a complete sentence: What is this picture about? (2 sentences - 2pnts)

The picture is about the traffic problem in Beijing. The traffic in Beijing has gotten more problematic as more people start to buy vehicles.

3. What message does this picture present to you? Why?(2 complete sentences - 2 pnts)

The message that this picture present to me is that the world is creating problems for themselves. People use too much vehicles and it becomes a problem if everyone uses it because the streets would be loaded.

4. Can you relate your life to this picture? Why or why not? (4 sentences - 4pnts)

This picture relates to my life because my life usually gets messed up in a way when I try to do to much at once. Sometimes, when I do stuff like play games, I usually spend hours trying to level up and then at the end I usually spend so much time and don't get anything else done. Another way this picture relates to my life is that it takes a long, and hard time to get to my destination.
